With the theme “Risk and Crisis Management in the Hospitality & Tourism industry,” School of International Hospitality and Tourism Management held their 8th Junior Professional Summit at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel, Oct. 3.
SDCA President, Dr. Gregorio A. Andaman Jr., with his siblings Dr. Marita A. Andaman-Rillo and Emeriteria Andaman-Sagala witnessed their family story on stage through the theater play of Association of Dominican Communicators entitled “Nag-iisangPabalangin” at the Studio Theater, November 22.
With the theme “SDCA@13 : Blazing for Excellence”, St. Dominic College of Asia (SDCA) officially opened this year’s Founding Anniversary with astounding presentations from the Basic Education Department held at SDCA Grounds, November 23. .
Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) hailed this year’s Dominican Dance Showdown Champions Defeating 11 other academic organizations, November 25at St. Dominic College of Asia (SDCA) Grounds.
Basketball team, Finance Admin Basketball team won against Team Faculty with a score of 82-69 while St. Dominic Medical Centre (SDMC) team ruled the court with a score of 87 against the outsource employees, RME, leaving 66 points during the opening game of Andaman’s Cup 2016 at SDCA Skyline last November 24, 2016.
The School of Health Science Professions (SHSP) will be conducting a "Skill Fair" open to all students under Allied Health program on July 16-20, 2018, from 8:00AM-5:00PM.
Leptospirosis
is a bacterial infection transmitted by many animals, such as rodents and other vermin. Waste products (e.g., urine and feces) of an infected animal, especially rats, contaminate the soil, water, and vegetation.
Cause
Leptospira spirochetes bacteria
Mode of Transmission
Ingesting contaminated food or water or when broken skin or open wounds and mucous membrane (eyes, nose, sinuses, mouth) come in contact with contaminated water (usually flood water) or soil (Incubation period of bacteria is 7-10 days.)
- are acute viral infections that affect infants, young children, and adults.
- Bite of an Aedes aegypti mosquito infected with any one of the four dengue viruses.
- Transmitted by a day-biting mosquito called Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus (These mosquitoes lay eggs in clear and stagnant water found in flower vases, cans, rain barrels, old rubber tires, etc. The adult mosquitoes rest in dark places of the house.)
- Signs and Symptoms
- Sudden onset of high fever which may last from 2 to 7 days.
- Bite of an Aedes aegypti mosquito infected with any one of the four dengue viruses.
- Joint and muscle pain and pain behind the eyes
- Weakness
- Skin rashes
- Nosebleeding when fever starts to subside
- Abdominal pain
- Vomiting of coffee-colored matter
- Dark-colored stools
- Difficulty of breathing
