With the proceeds collected from the Christmas Chorale Competition on December 17, the “Kusinang Barangay” has now come to life.Two kitchens were installed in SDCA’s adopted communities—one in Barangay LayongMabilog and another one in Barangay Talipusngo. The kitchensare fully equipped with kitchenware useful in everyday cooking and even the production of banana and cassava chips.
“The aim of the Kusinang Barangay is to help the people of Maragondon produce their own products,” according to Community Outreach ExtensionOfficer Ronald Tomines,“because one of the problems why most of them cannot produce their own product is due to lack of equipment.”
Tomines also mentioned that December would be the start of proper training in food production for the people in Maragondon, Cavite.
