SDCA-COE’s “BalikEskwela”for Compassion

In the spirit of good-heartedness, high school students from SDCA carried out “BalikEskwela”, SDCA’s gift-giving program. The students cameon the morning of June 1 to LayongMabilog Elementary School in Marogondon, Cavite to bring an estimated 100 gifts in total to the children there.

“BalikEskwela” is a community experience for the students of St. Dominicthat helps them experience community leadership and service, plus gain insight in the rural lifestyle of Maragondon.

The SDCA students gave notebooks, ballpens, and other school supplies as gifts. They also arranged games to play with the children. The prizes that were given at the games were bought with money given by the SDCA students themselves. As tokensof appreciation, the children of LayongMabilog Elementary schoolalso prepared gifts—pickled mangoes and Indian mangoes.A yummy way to show thanks!

Besides from SDCA high school student leaders, Scouting Coordinator _______Bigayan, Outreach Coordinator Charmaine Balaoro, and Community Outreach and Extension (COE) Officer Ronald Tomines helped in leading an event that brought smiles to those less fortunate than us.
