St. Dominic College of Asia’s (SDCA) Dominican Pikemen brings home the title on the 9th Inter-Scholastic Athletic Association (ISAA) Futsal championship at SDCA Skyline Gymnasium, February 28.
Pikemen defeated Philippine Air Transport and Training Services (PATTS) Sea Horses, Far East Air Transport Incorporated (FEATI) Seahawks, and Manila Tytana Colleges (TYTANA) Titans on the elimination rounds but was overpowered by Manila Adventist College (MAC) Soaring Angels on the second stage due to lack of ball possessions.
During the semi-finals, SDCA secured a spot with two points against MAC with one point.
Pikemen drew with Sea Horses, 5-5 at the championship game. In order to win for the championship, Emmanuel Nwunzuzu, who was inside the penalty box, recovered the ball and scored a goal which earned the top spot for the team.
Team captain Samuel Egbita scored eight goals, followed by Aondohemba Alex Igbawua at six, Aonddowase Felix Kachia and Mbayev Nathan Fater at five, and Nwunzuzu at four. While best goalkeeper was awarded to Joseph Anchanya.
