It provides a comprehensive understanding of child growth and development, curriculum and instruction for early learners, family and community partnerships, and early childhood program management. The program emphasizes the development of research competencies and leadership qualities essential for innovating and improving early childhood education practices in various contexts.

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES (PLO)

Graduates of the Master in Early Childhood Education (MECE) are expected to demonstrate the following Dominican Graduate Attributes (DGAs): 

DGA 1: Competent Early Childhood Educator 

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of child development, learning, and early childhood education. 
  • Apply appropriate theories, pedagogical approaches, and assessment practices in diverse early childhood settings. 
  • Design and evaluate developmentally appropriate and inclusive learning programs.


PROGRAM EDUCATION OBJECTIVES (PEO)

  • Advance knowledge and skills in a specialize, interdisciplinary, or multidisciplinary field of study for professional practice; 
  • Develop expertise in self-directed research; 
  • Thrive in the environment of lifelong learning with highly substantial degree of independence, that involves individual work or teams of interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary experts; and 
  • Apply the above-mentioned skills in research, professional, or creative work.
