Our Psychology program, apart from being a pre-medicine course, prepares you for careers in the academic (as a psychometrician, guidance personnel, or admissions officer), the industrial (as a human resources practitioner, recruitment and selection officer, or training and development specialist), and clinical settings (as a mental health worker). Our program also equips you with adequate preparation for our graduate studies, allowing you to be a licensed counselor or a clinical psychologist.

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES (PLO)

At the end of the program, the graduates are expected to:

  1.  Demonstrate the capability to discuss and analyze the major theories and concepts in psychology (knowledge in psychology)

  2.  Demonstrate and apply the methods of psychological inquiry in building knowledge on local culture and context (psychological research)

  3.  Demonstrate and apply psychological theories and methods in personal and professional setting (application of psychology)

  4.  Demonstrate capability for self-reflection and independent learning in graduate education or in a professional context (independent learning)

  5.  Demonstrate professional and ethical behaviors in research and practice in Psychology (ethics)

  6.  Demonstrate harmonious interpersonal relationships with colleagues, clients and others (interpersonal skills) in diverse cultural settings.

  7.  Demonstrate the ability to conduct psychological assessments and evaluation (psychological assessment)


PROGRAM EDUCATION OBJECTIVES (PEO)

Three (3) to five (5) years after graduation, the graduates are expected to:

  1.  Possess important psychological skills that will make them confident in creating innovative solutions in different areas of Psychology.

  2.  Participate and succeed in their professional journey by means of active involvement, compliance with professional ethics and well-defined individuals with knowledge, skills and abilities in Psychology.

  3.  Exhibit a better view about the importance of one's profession in the promotion of mental health through lifelong learning, care for others, practical training, and involvement in different activities in professional development.

  4.  Accept leadership roles in different walks of society towards leading and influencing others based on one's role in the communities and organizations.

  5.  Continue one's desire to learn by means of pursuing graduate and postgraduate programs towards professional enhancement.
