The BA Communication with specialization in Digital Media Arts is a pioneering program of SDCA designed to prepare students to become excellent communication and media practitioners. PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES (PLO)

At the end of the program, the graduates are expected to:

  1.  Define and access information needs; access and organize information knowledge; produce, share, and utilize information and knowledge.

  2.  Communicate in different formats and platforms (print, broadcast, and online).

  3.  Prepare communication/ media plans.

  4.  Conduct communication and media research and evaluation.

  5.  Develop and produce communication materials in different formats and platforms.

  6.  Demonstrate communication management and leadership skills.

  7.  Develop entrepreneurial capabilities.

  8.  Adhere to ethical standards and practices.

  9.  Know and practice rights and responsibilities, and accountabilities in the communication profession.

  10.  Demonstrate a development orientation in communication work.

  11.  Apply communication theories/ models, principles, practices, and tools in development work.


PROGRAM EDUCATION OBJECTIVES (PEO)

Three (3) to five (5) years after graduation, the graduates are expected to:

  1.  Demonstrate creativity, innovativeness, and critical thinking in communication practice.

  2.  Utilize communication awareness, knowledge, and skills in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making relative to media and communication.

  3.  Undertake approaches and initiatives related to media relations, public information, community work, and other developmental activities.

  4.  Actualize proficiency in access to and responsible use of mass and digital media.

  5.  Incorporate scholarly preparations and practical applications needed in daily communication and life-long learning.

  6.  Embody leadership and management skills in communication practice.

  7.  Practice ethical standards both in personal and professional communication engagements.

  8.  Maintain an equilibrium between nationalism and globalism sensitive to cultural communication competence.
