SDCBEd Conducts International Benchmarking Program in Japan

News Published on: November 10, 2022

From November 8 to 12, 2022, St. Dominic College Basic Education (SDCBEd), led by Principal Valerie H. Insigne, conducted an international benchmarking visit in Tokyo, Japan. The program aimed to guide the SDCA Basic Education Department in developing innovative strategies to enhance learning experiences for young learners.

During the visit, Ms. Insigne met with Recruit Holdings in Tokyo, the main office of Quipper and Study Sapuri. Quipper is one of SDCBEd’s key partners in delivering online learning to students, while Study Sapuri is Japan’s equivalent platform, widely used by Japanese students.

Additionally, the visit included benchmarking sessions at two prestigious basic education institutions in Japan:

  • SEIRYO Junior High School (Kagoshima)
  • Shinagawa Shoei Junior and Senior High School (Tokyo)

These benchmarking activities provided insights into Japan’s education system, allowing SDCBEd to explore best practices that can be integrated into its own curriculum and teaching methodologies.

Over the past two years, the St. Dominic College Basic Education has continuously adapted its teaching and learning strategies to meet students' evolving needs. This international exposure reinforced the institution’s commitment to implementing new, innovative, and creative strategies for an improved learning experience.
