St. Dominic College of Asia (SDCA) welcomed 1,400 new students from various programs during Pasalubong 2018.
It had been two years since SDCA last conducted Pasalubong, as the event was put on hold due to the implementation of the K-12 program in 2016. This year, SDCA’s charming and energetic mascot, Nico Dominic, led the welcoming of new Dominicans as they entered the campus.
The highlight of the event was the annual Pinning Ceremony and the giving of Pasalubong letters written by Batch 2018, which were handed out by senior college students to the freshmen.
Pasalubong originates from two words: “Pasa”, which means to hand over, and “Salubong”, which means to welcome. The event symbolizes SDCA’s tradition of fostering camaraderie and warmly embracing new students into the Dominican community.
