A third-year Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy student from St. Dominic College of Asia (SDCA) earned recognition at the 2026 Philippine Pharmacists Association (PPhA) Research Day held in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.

Mr. Aris Moreno secured third place in the Oral Research Presentation category for his study titled "Development and Evaluation of Cricket (Teleogryllus occipitalis) Oil as a Natural Lipid Base for Suppository Formulation". The research explores the potential of alternative and sustainable materials in pharmaceutical formulations, contributing to ongoing efforts in innovation within the field.

The PPhA Research Day forms part of the broader activities of the Philippine Pharmacists Association Inc., a professional organization that promotes the advancement of pharmacy practice, research, and professional development in the country. The event provides a platform for students, researchers, and practitioners to present scientific studies, exchange knowledge, and contribute to the development of healthcare and pharmaceutical sciences. It is typically conducted alongside major gatherings such as the PPhA National Convention, which brings together pharmacy professionals from various sectors to discuss current trends, research, and advancements in the discipline.

Moreno's achievement highlights the growing participation of student researchers in national-level academic platforms and reflects the emphasis on research and innovation in pharmacy education. His study contributes to the exploration of sustainable resources in pharmaceutical applications, aligning with global directions toward environmentally conscious healthcare solutions.
