SDCA Hosts 6th Research, Extension, and Linkages Week

Events Published on: March 9, 2026

St. Dominic College of Asia (SDCA) will hold its 6th Research, Extension, and Linkages (REL) Week from March 10 to 13, 2026, at the SDCA campus in Bacoor, Cavite, bringing together researchers, educators, students, industry partners, and international academics for a series of scholarly and collaborative activities.

Carrying the theme “SPARK: Sustainable Partnerships for Academic Research and Knowledge Engagement,” the four-day event emphasizes the value of strong partnerships among academic institutions, industry leaders, and communities in advancing research, innovation, and knowledge sharing.

REL Week will feature a variety of activities that highlight SDCA’s commitment to strengthening its research culture, expanding community extension programs, and fostering institutional and international linkages.

The event provides a platform for faculty members, students, and partner institutions to present research outputs, exchange ideas, and explore collaborative opportunities.

One of the major highlights of the celebration is the 6th International Multidisciplinary Research Conference (IMRC) scheduled on March 12–13, which will bring together scholars and researchers from different disciplines to present studies and engage in discussions that promote interdisciplinary collaboration and research-driven solutions to contemporary challenges.

On March 11, the college will host The Horizon Forum during the morning session, featuring a keynote message and the launch of new Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Wall outputs.

The forum aims to showcase SDCA’s initiatives and collaborative efforts in advancing sustainability and community engagement through research and extension programs.

Following the morning session, the afternoon activities will feature the Problem Solving, Research, and Outcomes-Based Education for Resiliency and Sustainability (PROBERS) presentations, conducted in parallel sessions by first-year National Service Training Program (NSTP) students.

These presentations will highlight student-led projects and community-based initiatives that demonstrate the application of research, civic engagement, and service learning.

Complementing the research conference is the Academe–Industry Advisory Council (AIAC) Forum 2026, which aims to strengthen collaboration between the academic community and industry stakeholders.

The forum provides an opportunity for dialogue on emerging industry trends, workforce competencies, and potential partnerships that can enhance academic programs and research initiatives at SDCA.

In line with its commitment to internationalization, the college will also host a Global Classroom from March 10 to 13, featuring guest lecturers from partner institutions and organizations across Asia.

The Global Classroom will provide students and faculty members with opportunities to engage with international experts and gain broader perspectives in their respective fields.

Among the invited lecturers are Mr. Patrick Low, Vice-President of Alliance Institute Ltd in Singapore; Dr. Ananya Manmathbhai Mehta, Senior Lecturer in Professional Communication at RMIT University Vietnam; Prof. Afifah Khairunnisa, Medical Laboratory Science Lecturer from Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang in Indonesia; and Dr. Satria Pranata, Secretary of the Research Institute for Community Service at Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang, also in Indonesia.

Through these activities, REL Week continues to serve as one of SDCA’s flagship academic events, promoting research excellence, innovation, and meaningful engagement with local and global partners.

By bringing together scholars, industry professionals, and international educators, SDCA’s 6th Research, Extension, and Linkages Week aims to ignite new ideas and strengthen partnerships that contribute to sustainable academic research and knowledge engagement.
