SDCA Forges Partnership with PEZA to Bridge Academe and Industry in CALABARZON

St. Dominic College of Asia (SDCA) has officially partnered with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) to strengthen the linkage between higher education and the industrial sector. The formal signing ceremony took place on September 8, 2026, at the PEZA Head Office in Pasay City. The agreement was signed by SDCA College President Dr. Gregorio A. Andaman, Jr. and PEZA Director General Mr. Tereso O. Panga. The signing was witnessed by Atty. Lorille J. Leones, SDCA Vice President for Operations, and Atty. Vincent Ross Sy, Zone Administrator for the Cavite Economic Zone. This collaboration is designed to bridge the gap between academic preparation and the professional world, promoting innovation and contributing to national development. The alliance also establishes a robust framework for mutual exchange and corporate training. SDCA will offer its academic programs and customized non-degree training courses to upskill PEZA employees and locators. In return, the college will invite qualified industry practitioners from PEZA to serve as guest lecturers and resource speakers, keeping the academic curriculum attuned to current industry trends. Furthermore, SDCA will provide scholarship opportunities or tuition fee discounts to qualified dependents and employees of PEZA locators. Looking toward future innovation, the MOA between SDCA and PEZA highlights joint research initiatives aimed at addressing the strategic needs of PEZA's member companies, tackling areas such as manufacturing efficiency, supply chain management, and sustainability. Notably, the agreement opens the door for exploring the establishment of a Knowledge, Innovation, Science, and Technology (KIST) Ecozone or innovation hub, a move that would further cement the dynamic synergy between research and industry in the region.
