LIMLIM as Pinakapanalong Maikling Pelikula at CinePanalo 2026
LIMLIM, a student film by Bachelor of Multimedia Arts (BMMA) students of St. Dominic College of Asia (SDCA), earned the top distinction in the Student Shorts category of the Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival 2026, receiving the Pinakapanalong Maikling Pelikula award and its 100,000 grand cash prize.
The film concluded its CinePanalo run with four major awards, recognizing both the production and the individual work of its young filmmakers and performers. Samantha Palaje received the Panalong Direktor award, which she shared in a tie with another student filmmaker; Geia De Vera was recognized with Panalo sa Cinematography; and Zoey Madison Lim was named Panalong Child Performer.
LIMLIM also received nominations for Panalong Pangalawang Aktres for Angela Salga, Panalong Production Design for Dan Flores, and Panalong Kwento for Samantha Palaje, Gian Carlo Monahan, and Marcus Yves Prado.
The recognition places an SDCA student production on the national film festival stage, bringing together the creative work of young filmmakers across directing, cinematography, writing, production design, and performance. More than an individual award, the films showing at CinePanalo reflects how student-led creative work developed within an academic environment can move beyond the classroom and reach a wider audience.
Held from September 23 to October 4, 2026, the Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival provided a national platform for both established and emerging Filipino filmmakers. In the Student Shorts competition, LIMLIM finished as one of the most awarded entries of the festival, with four wins including the categorys highest honor.
For SDCAs BMMA program, LIMLIM marks a significant milestone in student filmmakingone that brings the work of its young creatives from the Dominican stage to the national film scene.
