The annual Quincine Film Festival, held for the first time online on November 23-24 via Zoom, saw three competing films splitting the awards, showcasing the talents of young Dominican filmmakers.
Among the featured films, "Next Time" from 11-Galileo Galilei (STEM) dominated the festival, winning Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Best Film.
Meanwhile, "Alpas" from Grade 11 Albert Einstein (STEM) was a crowd favorite, securing the People’s Choice Award, Best Cinematography, and First Runner-up for Best Film.
Another standout was "Link: Synching in Progress" from the Tech4Youth Organization, which took home the Best Trailer, Best Poster, and Second Runner-up for Best Film.
In individual awards, John Ephraim Basa was named Best Actor, while Faith Ann Bautista won Best Actress, further proving the high level of talent among the student filmmakers.
The festival also showcased two sets of films—official competition films and classic Quincine films, which featured previous works from SDCA alumni, celebrating the school’s rich tradition in filmmaking and visual storytelling.
