As part of SDCA’s 19th Founding Anniversary, the SDCA Men’s Basketball Team faced off against the SDCA Alumni Team, with the Alumni securing a thrilling 82-81 victory on November 26, 2022, at the SDCA Skyline Gym.
The Pikemen dominated the first half, leading by 26 points while the Alumni trailed by 5. Josiah Fordan (#9) led the Pikemen with 17 points, while Christian Lim (#8) contributed 18 points. In response, Fordan of the Alumni team led a strong comeback effort, closing the gap as both teams fought intensely for momentum.
By the halfway mark of the third quarter, the Alumni managed to take a slight lead, 61-58, as the teams adjusted their defensive and offensive strategies. The Pikemen, guided by Coach Tim Sibuon, focused on strengthening their game, resulting in a nail-biting final two minutes.
Despite a strong effort by the Pikemen to close the gap to just 4 points, they fell short by a single point in the final moments, allowing the Alumni to claim victory.
At the end of the game, the SDCA Pikemen reflected on their efforts, taking the experience as a milestone for future matchups. Meanwhile, the Alumni Team expressed their enjoyment of the game, offering guidance and challenges for the next battles against the Pikemen.
