With the theme “Cyber Guardians: Empowering Today’s Defenders, Securing Tomorrow’s Digital Nation,” this year’s HackForGov challenged participants through a Capture-the-Flag (CTF) competition that tested their cybersecurity skills in network security, web security, and cryptography using real-world scenarios.

Representing St. Dominic College of Asia from BS Information Technology program, Winmari Manzano, Terquin Laqui, CJ Sacdalan and Louis Gabriel Damondamon, Team Brute4z showcased their technical expertise and teamwork, earning the distinction of 2nd Runner-Up in the regional competition.

Adding to SDCA’s strong performance, Winmari Manzano, a Dominican participant, was recognized as the Top Performing Individual and will advance to the National HackForGov Competition as part of the WildCard Team.

HackForGov 2025 continues to serve as a vital platform for aspiring cybersecurity professionals to develop their skills, foster collaboration, and strengthen the nation’s cyber defense capacity. Through this event, students across CALABARZON reaffirm their role as the next generation of digital defenders.
