SDCA Basic Education Athletes Showcases Outstanding Performance in BCOPSAA 2025

Bacoor, Cavite, Philippines. The student-athletes from the Basic Education Department of St. Dominic College of Asia (SDCA) demonstrated excellence and sportsmanship in the Bacoor City Organization of Private Schools Athletic Association (BCOPSAA) 2025, earning numerous achievements across various sporting events.

Badminton (Girls Doubles) – Champion

The Dominican Badminton Girls Doubles Team claimed the championship title in the BCOPSAA 2025 tournament, finishing with a perfect 4–0 record. Jayashri Anne Soria and Cheska Claire Bretaña represented St. Dominic College of Asia with outstanding performance throughout the competition.



Swimming (Women’s Division) – Multi-Medal Winner

Sofia Gray R. Gonzales from the Women’s Division achieved remarkable results in BCOPSAA 2025, earning multiple medals across several swimming events:

  • 50M Freestyle - Gold

  • 100M Breaststroke - Silver

  • 50M Butterfly - Silver

  • 200M Individual - Bronze

  • 100M Freestyle - Bronze


Taekwondo – Gold and Silver Medalists

Dominican taekwondo athletes delivered outstanding performances, earning multiple medals in their respective divisions:

  • Vhince Clemente – Gold, Welterweight Division

  • Antonella Mae U. Sta. Iglesia – Gold, Bantamweight Division

  • Phoenix D. Apolonario – Silver, Featherweight Division

  • Rasheed Ry M. Gaddi – Silver, Lightweight Division



Chess – Bronze and Top Placements

SDCA’s Chess Team also showed remarkable analytical skill and composure, earning top placements in the BCOPSAA 2025 tournament.

  • Matt Saunder A. Miranda (Grade 9) – 3rd Place (Bronze)

  • Karl Sybastien G. Astillero (Grade 12) – 4th Place

  • Roeh William L. Oriesga (Grade 11) – 13th Place


Table Tennis (Girls Doubles) – Bronze Medalist

The Dominican Table Tennis Girls Doubles Team earned a Bronze Medal in BCOPSAA 2025, with Thea Dominique R. Repil and Aryanne Clarisse D. Galleros (Grade 11 – STEM) showing strong coordination and determination throughout the tournament.

Esports – 2nd and 4th Place

SDCA’s Esports Team placed 2nd in VI 3x3 Arena and 4th in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) in the BCOPSAA 2025 Esports competition.

Volleyball (Boys & Girls) – West Cluster 4th Place

The Dominican Boys and Girls Volleyball Teams both finished 4th Place in the West Cluster, advancing through several rounds of intense competition and demonstrating teamwork and persistence on the court.

Basketball (Boys) – Quarterfinalist

The Junior Pikemen Basketball Team reached the Quarterfinals in BCOPSAA 2025, representing SDCA with determination against competitive opponents in the Boys Division.

BCOPSAA 2025 continues to serve as an avenue for young Dominican athletes to demonstrate discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship through competitive play, reflecting SDCA’s dedication to holistic student development.
