Finance Admin, SDMC, top Andaman’s Cup opening game

Basketball team, Finance Admin Basketball team won against Team Faculty with a score of 82-69 while St. Dominic Medical Centre (SDMC) team ruled the court with a score of 87 against the outsource employees, RME, leaving 66 points during the opening game of Andaman’s Cup 2016 at SDCA Skyline last November 24, 2016.


The opening ceremony started with a parade of athletes together with their muses. Along with Finance Admin and SDMC, the competing teams were Faculty, Outsource Employees, and RCVJ Mr. Jayson Alvin Virata, Director for Admin Supports Services, officially opened the basketball cup by delivering his welcome remarks. “Play is the only way in highest intelligence of humankind can unfold” he said. The oath of sportsmanship was led by Mr. Louie I. Rabia, one of the rosters of SDMC. All team captains gathered in the center for the ceremonial toss together with Mr. Virata.

In the first game, Finance Admin ruled the court by making jump shots and scored. Former basketball player of Dominican Red Pikemen, Mr. Vince Commandante is now a roster of the Faculty team.

SDMC finished the basketball cup with a 21-point lead making the Outsource Employees failed to catch up in the last quarter.
